The Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine (CCHM) was born in 1994 and formerly known as The Toronto School of Homeopathic Medicine (TSHM). It is the longest-running homeopathic College in Canada and is about to celebrate its 500th graduate. More than 90% of the homeopathic training component of their program is taught by "practising homeopaths" with a minimum of 10 years clinical experience – some have been practising for 30 years. The school staff is very concerned about the student's success and are committed to excellence in academic and clinical training.

How long does it take to complete the course in homeopathy?

Basically the school offers 4 programs:

The most popular course is the Homeopathic Diploma Program, a 3 years course offered to those who want to be recognized as professional homeopaths. The academic year starts every January and September. This course has the option to be taken either on campus or online.

The classes are very flexible and they are taken only on weekends. In addition, students are required to attend the College’s Teaching Clinic & Internship Clinic as well as participate in the Clinical Externship program.

If you are interested in any way in homeopathy but are not sure if that is the right course for you, they also offer a Distance Education Introductory Course to those who are yet to decide. At the end of the course, the student may earn a certificate that enables him/her to easily enter the 3-year professional training program.

For people with a medical degree who are interested in homeopathy, the school offers a Homeopathic Diploma Program for Physicians. That is a 2 year program that allows the student to become competent in the field of homeopathy.

For those who already have a degree in Homeopathy and want to further their studies, a post-graduate program is also offered. The Post Graduate Homeopathic Program is a 1 year program that gives the student an in-depth knowledge about the practice of homeopathy.

Is the School Accredited?

Yes, in fact, the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine is the only Homeopathic College or School in Canada that has an independent accreditation. They are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Homeopathic Education in North America (ACHENA). The school is accountable to the ACHENA in an on-going process. That means ACHENA reviews their curriculum and administration in an on-going manner which also requires the school to meet specific educational objectives and outcomes that cover every aspect of running a college.

How much does it cost to school at the college?

Fees for the introductory Certificate Course are $1,110, payable to CCHM. After completion of the course, if the student decides to proceed with their training by enrolling in the professional diploma program, the $1,110 is deducted from the professional program fees.

The main course in the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine is the Three-year Professional Diploma Program. Each year of the program costs $9150.

The Fourth Year Post Graduate Program costs $3950

Financial aid is not offered yet. That said since classes are held on the weekend, students are allowed to work in order to pay for their tuition.

Where is the school located?

The school itself is located in Toronto, Canada.

Classes are to be attended at the Yonge and Davisville classroom adjoining the schools administrative offices, near the Davisville subway station, or at Northrop Frye Hall at The University of Toronto located at 73 Queens Park Crescent East. This scenic location is conveniently located near the Museum Subway Station.

How does the future looks like for future graduates?

Students trained at the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine are not trained to be mere graduates looking for jobs. They are also trained on how to set up a practice and market themselves.
