The School of Massage Therapy has different branches all over USA and has taken upon itself the mission to train as many massage therapist as possible in the shortest possible period of time, that is in just 7.5 months. They also have longer part time programs for those with a busy schedule. The School of Massage Therapy will provide you with the high-quality education you need to get the job that you’ve always dreamed of. The good thing is they are not just focused on training their students but even when the course is over they are actively involved in helping their students get jobs and have a career in massage therapy.

School Description

The Nevada School of Massage Therapy is dedicated not only to providing the highest quality education to its students, but also to helping those students find the jobs of their dreams.

How long does it take to complete the course?

The School of Massage Therapy offers two main courses :
  • Professional Massage Therapy Program

  • Master Bodyworker Program

The Professional Massage Therapy Program can be completed within 7 and half months for students taking the full time option. For those who are too busy, evening classes have been made available. Evening classes are completed in 12 months. Overall a student will spend about 815.5 clock hours of training.

Students are taught basic massage theory and technique. They are also taught an Eastern paradigm of bodywork therapy that includes shiatsu and acupressure, along with contemporary Western modalities such as structural bodywork, trigger point therapy & rehabilitation massage, sports massage, and cranial sacral therapy. Human anatomy and physiology is also part of the course and all students are required to get a basic knowledge about them. After this training the student will be able to sit for the National Certification Exam or the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam. 

To take the Master Bodyworker Program, one will have to first complete the Professional Massage Therapy Program. The Master Bodyworker Program is a 10 weeks program designed to prepare students to holistically practice massage therapy in a variety of therapeutic environments within the industry. You will learn advanced techniques like myokinetic techniques, hydrotherapy spa treatments, sports injury management, and rehabilitative protocols. Mind you, the Master Bodyworker Program can only be taken as a full time course, there is no part-time option available.

Is the School Accredited?

Yes the School of Massage Therapy is accredited by by the Accrediting Council on Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).Their massage therapy program is also accredited by by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA). Also all the student taking the Professional Massage Therapy Program are eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam or the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam.

What is the cost involved in the schooling?

The School of Massage Therapy offers two main courses, the second one just been a continuation of the first course. The Professional Massage Therapy Program (for 32 weeks) costs $11,890.00 . Then the students are also given books and other massage therapy supplies at the cost of $920.99 . That said there are no dormitories on campus so the students will have to find their own apartment somewhere close enough to the school. This course also has the option to be completed in 52 weeks, evening session

All students can also decide to take the Master Bodyworker Program (42 weeks) at the course of $16,338.57 and an additional fee of $1,092.23 for the books and supplies. This option includes the Professional Massage Therapy Program. Note that this option is not compulsory. One can first take the Professional Massage Therapy Program and start working straight away then later in life, you can decide to upgrade to Master Bodyworker Program.

The school does offers loans to those who qualify for it. They offer Title IV Federal Student Aid, including PELL Grants, SEOG, Federal Direct Loans, Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loans, and Federal Work Study. The median debt for massage program graduates is $8,338 for the Federal Loans.

Talking about relocation

The School of Massage Therapy has branches all over the United States and you can choose to attend any of them depending on where you are living and which one is closer to your home. The school is also willing to help all their students find part-time jobs often within walking distance of the campus. They can also provide help finding a bank, child care resources, libraries, transportation, and more.

May be you live in a city where the school is nowhere near you. The school also offers help for finding accommodation. You just have to let them know what you are looking for, if it is a one room apartment or if you would be ok sharing the rent with somebody else. They are will to help and support their students with respect to that.

What happens once you get your degree?

The school is willing to assist all their graduate students in getting a job. Being a member of the Steiner Education Group (SEG), the School of Massage Therapy has developed strong connection with a lot of the big massage clinics and practices around the country. That gives their students a good chance to get a job as soon as they graduate. The school is willing to assist their student until they get a job. That means even 5 years after they graduated, the graduate students can still rely on the career service of The Massage Therapy School to get a job.
